Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 31, 2026
Last updated: October 31, 2026
Who we are
This website is operated for Kelowna Private Skin Cancer Clinic, 606-550 Osprey Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 0G6. This policy describes information handled through the website; it does not replace the consent process or privacy information provided for your clinical care.
Information you provide
The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. The assessment request form asks for your name and phone number, with optional email, appointment preferences, reason for booking and referral source. We use these details to respond and arrange appointments. Please provide only what is needed for that purpose. Your request is sent by email so our team can respond; it does not create a patient record or a confirmed appointment.
Please do not send medical records, health-card numbers, clinical photographs or detailed medical histories through these general website forms. Contact the clinic for the appropriate way to provide health information. The linked Ocean patient intake portal has its own privacy information and collection process.
Consent and choices
Submitting an inquiry asks us to use the details you provide to respond. Optional questions can be left blank. You may contact us to change your communication preferences or withdraw consent, subject to legal and professional requirements. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to respond through a particular channel. An appointment request does not subscribe you to marketing.
Website services and technical information
Our website and service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and server logs to deliver and protect the site. Website hosting, maintenance and email services may handle information needed to operate those services. Email is not a secure patient portal. Contact us if you prefer to discuss your inquiry by phone.
See our Cookie Policy for browser storage and third-party content. External links, including Ocean, YouTube, Google Maps and social media, take you to services governed by their own privacy policies. Service providers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where different laws may apply. Contact the clinic for details about providers used for your information.
Retention and safeguards
Website inquiries are delivered by email and may also be retained in mail systems, service logs and backups. They are separate from clinical records, which have legal and professional retention requirements. Ask the clinic about the retention period and safeguards applying to your information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Clinical photographs and recordings
Clinical images and recordings on this website are educational examples, not predictions of your results. Consent for clinical care is distinct from consent to publish material publicly. Contact the clinic if you have a question about an image or wish to discuss withdrawing publication consent. Material copied by third parties may remain outside the clinic’s control.
Access, corrections and privacy questions
Dr. Ben Wiese is the Privacy Officer for Kelowna Private Skin Cancer Clinic. You may ask to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, or raise a privacy concern, subject to applicable exceptions. Email [email protected], call 236-420-3277 and ask for Dr. Ben Wiese, Privacy Officer, or write to the clinic at the address above, marked “Privacy inquiry”. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information.
British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) generally governs private medical practices in BC. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may also apply to particular activities, including commercial transfers across provincial or national borders. You can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC about a concern under PIPA, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where federal law applies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as website services or requirements change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
